Aliens Isolation can be completed without taking a single life

Do you remember when many of us played Dishonoured in 2012, the game offered two options in how you could proceed through it, you could play as the silent avenger eliminating every enemy you came across with a swift kill. The other option was actually one that could be considered an accomplishment and that was playing quiet as a mouse and avoiding ever taking out a single enemy, this approach was trickier and required more complex thought with your solutions avoiding enemy contact but in the end completing the entire game without ending a single life left you satisfied and accomplished. The developers of the upcoming Aliens Isolation have a similar mindset about what they want from their game. First and foremost Aliens Isolation is set to be a survival horror game set to test your nerves and in the end you could suggest your morals as Aliens Isolation is not a shooter and does not make the requirement that you really have to kill anybody.Talking with GamesTM Gary Napper the lead designer on the game says the entire game can be beaten without taking out a single enemy. This in my view is quite a feat and could make Aliens Isolation a far better game for it providing the player with the challenge of survival without concerning themselves with who best to takeout. Here is Napper’s full comments:

“You can get through the entire game without killing someone. It’s something that was, not so much a challenge, but something I felt was what the character would do. We’re talking about a member of the Ripley family – they’re not like characters in games that gun down civilians because they’re in the way to get to the switch.”
